How to redact text in a screenshot on a Mac
Redacting means covering sensitive text with a solid box so nobody can read it. It is safer than blur for passwords, card numbers and keys. ShotBloom can find a word for you: you just click it.
Step by step with ShotBloom
- Capture with ⇧⌘2, or open an existing image with ⌘N.
- Click Edit, then choose Redact in the toolbar.
- Move the pointer over the text. ShotBloom outlines the word under it.
- Click to cover the word with a solid box. Repeat for every word you need to hide.
- To cover a larger area, drag a box instead. You can move, resize and rotate it.
- Click Done & Copy to share the redacted screenshot.
Tips
- Text recognition runs on your Mac. Nothing is uploaded.
- Press Delete to remove a selected box.
